“I found electric motor technology intriguing and interesting and I loved being able to solve people’s problems and find unique solutions. Someone would bring me a motor and tell me that everyone said it couldn’t be fixed. I’d take it apart, find the problem and fix it for a fraction of what it would cost to get a replacement motor. It was great to talk with customers even years later and find that their motors were still running,” says Dale Slaymaker, reflecting back on the early years of his business.
Even in the early days of his business, Dale had a vision for the future. “I wanted to build a business I could work in with my sons. Way back at the beginning, I saw each of my sons working with me in their own unique part of the business. That vision propelled me in the right direction and for the most part, that’s what Slaymaker is today.”
